You Belong in this Work
October 20, 2026 10:00 am to 12:00 pm
This online workshop will give participants the tools to identify, address, and disrupt imposter syndrome.
In order to register for this event you need to or first.
Most of the adults who do youth development work carry a quiet version of the same story their young people carry: that they are one hard question away from being found out, that they got here on luck, that everyone else in the meeting belongs and they are the exception. This online workshop gives that feeling its real name, imposter syndrome, and gives practitioners something to do about it. During this session, participants will name the pattern, locate where it actually comes from, find their own version of it, and build a short routine they can run before the funder call, the hard conversation, or the room where they feel outmatched. The person is not the problem. The pattern is.
Participants will learn to:
• Name imposter syndrome in plain language and stop carrying it as a personal failing.
• Locate their own imposter story in context (first-generation status, being the only one in the room, credentials they were told they lacked), rather than in their character.
• Identify their dominant pattern from Dr. Valerie Young's five archetypes and choose one counter-move to practice.
• Run a sixty-second imposter-interrupt routine they can use before any room that makes them shrink.
