Maximize the impact of your civic engagement efforts by integrating them with youth programming for long-term success. Explore discussion strategies and engagement activities that blend civic engagement with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. In this workshop, you'll learn how to connect standalone civic engagement events to project-based learning, helping young people connect with their history, communities, and the world around them.
Workshop attendees will:
Uncover vocabulary and best practices connected to civic engagement
Establish accountable talk protocols for safe, thoughtful students discussion
Explore connections with project-based learning and civic engagement strategies
Walk away with a practical guide to implementing these strategies in programming
Note: This is not an introduction to project-based learning but an opportunity to identify points of connection with civic engagement. A light review will be included.
