Are you serving youth and families in Lower Manhattan? Do you need resources to better meet the mental health needs of young people you serve? Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is an evidence-based training that equips adults with the tools to support adolescents (ages 12–18) experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis.
In this two day, in person training, participants will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to mental health signs and symptoms using the ALGEE action plan. Much like traditional CPR or First Aid, this course does not train you to diagnose or provide clinical treatment; instead, it empowers you to offer the vital support and connection young people need until professional help is reached.
Please note that this is an 8 hour training. After completing an application, selected participants will register on YMHFA to complete pre-tests and must attend all 8 hours, 4 hours each day.
Part 1 - Tuesday, June 9, 9:00am-1:00pm
Part 2 - Thursday, June 11, 9:00am-1:00pm
This training is funded by Trinity Wall Street. As part of grant guidelines, priority will be given to staff who work with participants in Lower Manhattan.
