Effectively Engage Students with YCteen Stories - Free Professional Development Opportunity

On October 21, 2016, from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm, Youth Communication is hosting a free training that provides concrete strategies for effectively using YCteen magazine stories in the classroom. Founded in 1980, YCteen is an award-winning magazine written by and for teens in New York City. Each issue is accompanied by a Lesson Guide for educators. Learn how to use circle protocols and open-ended questions to target students’ reading comprehension in a way that’s both successful and engaging. Youth Communication's story-based circle approach bolsters social and emotional learning, enhances literacy engagement, and builds trust and community in the classroom setting. The training will take place at 242 West 38 Street, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10018. Advance registration is required. Space is limited.
