Hunter College High School Open House

Hunter College High School (HCHS) is a tuition-free high school that serves students who demonstrate advanced cognitive ability, are intellectually curious, and are passionate about learning. The only entry year for HCHS is 7th grade. Entrance is by competitive exam; students test in 6th grade to be admitted for 7th grade and remain through high school graduation. Many HCHS graduates attend the nation's best colleges. On October 18, 2014 from 1:00-3:00pm, the school is hosting a special program for Black and Latino elementary school-aged children, grades 1-6, and their families. Children will attend fun mini-classes with Hunter teachers, and parents will speak to current students, administrators, alumni, and parents, and learn strategies for supporting their children's academic development. The event will also welcome afterschool directors and program staff interested in learning more about HCHS and how to prepare kids to apply. RSVP to HunterOpenHouse@gmail.com. The event will be held at HCHS at 71 East 94th Street, New York, NY.
