College Now's 7th Annual Urban Male Conference

On May 13, 2016, CUNY College Now is hosting it's 7th Annual Urban Male Conference. The event takes place from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm at Borough of Manhattan Community College for 9th - 12th graders in New York City Department of Education schools. The conference theme is STEM: Supporting Tomorrow's Empowered Males and will include keynote from Ahmadu Gidado, Campus Recruiter at BlackRock and presentations on the earning power of a college degree, financing a college education, STEM careers, and more. Use the student form and the guidance counselor form to register.

NY Hall of Science STEM Career Expo for NYC HS & College Students

On May 13, 2016 from 5:30 pm - 9:00 pm the New York Hall of Science is hosting a STEM Career Expo. Designed for high school and college students, the STEM Career Expo highlights organizations, colleges, universities, professionals and companies involved in science, technology, engineering and math. More than 30 STEM-related organizations are expected to participate in the event, offering valuable insight and advice to students who attend. This free event includes food and music by the Applecores. Chaperones are required for students under age 16. All guests are required to RSVP.

STARS Citywide Girls Initiative's​ 2nd Annual Girls' Leadership Summit

On June 9, 2016 from 9:30 am - 3:00 pm at Regis High School STARS Citywide Girls Initiative is hosting its 2nd Annual Girls' Leadership Summit. This day-long, youth summit for middle and high school girls will include performances, keynote speakers, workshops, as well as an exhibition hall where a college and healthy living resource fair will take place. Girls Inc of NYC Summer Camp

Girls Inc. of NYC is providing a free summer camp for girls ages 10-14 from July 5 - 28, 2016. The camp takes place in downtown Brooklyn, NY Monday to Friday from 8:30 am - 3:00 pm. Campers participate in core Girls Inc. activities that include weekly field trips, service learning projects, dance, art, entrepreneurship, music, coding, self-defense, leadership-building activities, and learning about positive body image and self-esteem. 2016-2017 NYU School of Professional Studies​​ Access​ Program

The NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) Access program is a 10-month alternative college preparatory pathway that is designed to equip students for higher education and a career. This program supports recent high school graduates who seek to strengthen readiness for college or to enter the job market while earning college credit. Students apply during the spring semester of their senior year of high school. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will have earned 24 college credits. Eligible students must be graduating from an NYS-accredited high school this academic year (June 2016) and must live in the New York City metropolitan area. The application deadline for the August 2016 - May 2017 program is June 15, 2016. Visit the program website for cost and additional information.
