“Adolescence. Thriving. Learning Ecosystems.”

Knowledge to Power Catalysts is hosting an upcoming virtual event entitled "Adolescence. Thriving. Learning Ecosystems.” to explore ways to think more broadly about the spaces and conditions in which adolescents learn best and thrive. This October 30, 2024 virtual session from 12:00 PM – 1:15PM will cultivate a conversation with leading researchers across the topics of adolescence, youth thriving, and ecosystems. Together, Dr. Tom Akiva, University of Pittsburgh; Dr. Shawn Ginwright, Harvard Graduate School of Education; and Dr. Joanna Williams, Search Institute and the National Scientific Council on Adolescence will discuss their research and the intersections between these three concepts. The conversation will challenge participants to expand the way we think about and measure our collective work to support thriving adolescents. Register via Zoom

KnoPro: A Platform for Youth to Gain Professional Experience

KnoPro is a free web-based platform that provides unique opportunities for high school students to gain professional experience. In partnership with industry leaders and corporations, this interactive tool offers high school students the opportunity to tackle real-world problems faced by business leaders, receive expert feedback from industry mentors, grow their professional skills and resumes, and more – with the chance to win cash and other prizes. From Data to Action: Shaping an Equitable Future for NYC’s Children

Join Citizens' Committee for Children of New York (CCC) for a three-part webinar series that explores the latest data from their 2024 Keeping Track of New York City’s Children data book. The series, which will take place from October 2024 to December 2024, will highlight critical insights on economic security, housing and homelessness, and early education and childcare, focusing on actionable policy areas to ensure New York’s children and families can thrive amongst affordability challenges. Each session will feature an in-depth analysis of key challenges and the steps we can take to promote equity and well-being across our diverse communities. Learn more and register for the series here.

Calling all youth development professionals looking to advance their education and career - CUNY School of Professional Studies has degrees designed to elevate your career to new heights.  Built upon a foundation of positive youth development and social justice, their Youth Studies programs delve into essential topics while exploring the latest social and political issues affecting today's youth.
