Cooper Union's Summer STEM Intensive

Cooper Union's Summer STEM Program is a six-week, July - August 2019, intensive that immerses current high school sophomores and juniors in hands-on engineering design and problem-solving. Faculty and teaching assistants from the departments of civil, chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering provide students with foundational knowledge and expert guidance to address real-world problems in their respective disciplines of expertise. Students also attend workshops on college and career planning and presentation and writing skills. Early decision applications are due March 8, 2019. After that date, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. There is a fee to apply and attend. Financial aid available.

Apply for the BCAPteen Mini-Internship

The Brooklyn Public Library's BCAPteen is a two-week, summer, mini-internship, for teens ages 14 - 17, blending digital media and communications, personal and professional skills, and the creative arts through the lens of photojournalism. BCAPteens will learn about photography, complete visual storytelling assignments, develop an independent project, and create an online portfolio. Participants document the BCAP Summer Camp program in action. Independent projects are on a subject of the artist’s choice, and work from this project will be shared at a pop-up exhibition. BCAPteen interns earn a stipend and volunteer hours, while building skills, expressing their creative interests, and having fun. Download a packet for more information. In My Own Words: Free Spring Break Arts Intensive for Young Women in the Bronx

In My Own Words is a free, six-day intensive arts workshop offered by New Settlement’s Program for Girls & Young Women in the South Bronx, incorporating music, spoken word poetry, theater and film-making for young women, ages 13 - 18. The program meets April 22 – April 27, 2019, includes a two-night retreat in Carmel, NY, and culminates in a live performance and screening on April 27, 2019 in the Bronx. Apply today to participate in a creative and meaningful Spring Break adventure. Application deadline is March 22, 2019.
