Talking with Kids about Sexuality!

Planned Parenthood of New York City (PPNYC) launched a new parent website, “Talking with Kids about Sexuality!” Over the last 20 years, PPNYC’s Adult Role Models have helped parents and caring adults have conversations with the kids in their lives about sexuality. This new website provides access to resources from their Adult Role Models workshops. On the website, parents and caring adults can watch videos that model PPNYC’s Four Steps and Teachable Moments communication techniques; access information on supporting healthy sexual development and parental monitoring; and access resources that can get them started talking with their kids, as well as recommendations on books and other websites.

History of Afterschool

To ensure that afterschool stakeholders appreciate the long history of afterschool youth programs in America, Temescal Associates and the How Kids Learn Foundation have created a video to document this history. In this documentary, they attempt to tell the full story of the history of afterschool and its important role as a unique institution serving low-income youth. It also looks at the contemporary afterschool field and the future of afterschool programs.
