Fordham University Summer Reading Programs

Fordham University School of Professional and Continuing Studies is offering Summer Reading Programs as a community service to families on campus and at over 28 locations throughout New York. Since 1999, this program has helped students in the community build strong reading skills and develop a deep love of books and reading. NYC Salt Residency Program

NYC Salt's 36-week Residency Program focuses on photography and college preparation and is intended for students who wish to deepen their understanding and passion for the visual arts. In this program the students will learn how to use a camera, how to use light, how to find their vision, how to use their voice to tell a story and more. Student's experience group and one-on-one instruction in a professional photography studio. Application deadline is June 30, 2019.

Google Computer Science Research Mentorship Program

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2019-2020 Google Computer Science Research Mentorship Program. This mentorship program promotes diversity in computer science (CS) research communities and promote CS research as a career option to promising undergraduate students from historically underrepresented groups. The program pairs students with a noted Google research scientist for a yearlong mentorship that potentially culminates in the publication of a research paper. In addition, participants will be awarded a grant to attend a premier computing conference with their mentor during the program year. To nominate students (up to 3) complete the nomination form by end of day June 14, 2019. Please make sure you have student consent before sharing their contact information.

Summer 2019 Workshops for Girls & Young Women

This summer New Settlement is partnering with two other non-profit organizations to bring Arts, Leadership and STEAM opportunities to girls and young women. Shake It Out ‘This Is Me’ Theater & Leadership Program includes theatre games, movement, monologue & poetry writing, storytelling, yoga, basic costume & set design and workshops with guest artists. EDSnaps Summer Workshop Studio Program provides hands on experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math, all through engaging activities and trips. EDSnaps aims to diversify the STEM workforce and inspire and empower female-identifying students to become exceptional global STEM community leaders through exposure to real-world snapshots of life-changing STEM career possibilities.
