Emoti-Con 2021 Virtual Project Fair

Emoti-Con is NYC's 13th Annual Youth Digital Media & Technology Challenge - a project fair for students across NYC who believe in digital innovation as a tool for positive change in the world around them. Students must submit their project presentations online before midnight on May 19, 2021. Each project needs an adult "Project Sponsor" to complete this application alongside the student/s who worked on the project. A Project Sponsor is usually a teacher, or a program facilitator, but you can also be a parent or guardian.

Step Up New York

Join Young Invincibles for Step Up New York, their student-led virtual advocacy series that will address some of the biggest challenges facing New York’s college students today. You'll hear directly from students about the issues impacting their college experience and from New York's leaders about how they're addressing these issues. The series contains three sessions, the first of which takes place on April 22, 2021 at 5:00 PM. The remaining sessions take place on April 29, 2021, and May 6, 2021. RSVP today.

Student Historian Summer Internship

New-York Historical Society invites high school students entering 10, 11, or 12 grade to apply to their Student Historian Internship Program. Students will be able to use the resources of New-York Historical Society to conduct teen-led research on undertold yet highly relevant histories, learn about the history of activists and social movements, work with historian mentors, and take trips to history archives to help support their work. The deadline to apply is May 9, 2021.

Education funding provided by the American Rescue Plan presents a tremendous opportunity to offer young people the quality afterschool and summer programs that are so desperately needed. Afterschool Alliance's webinar on April 21, 2021, will provide an overview of the funding opportunity and provide tools that local communities can use to help ensure that they realize the potential of the American Rescue Plan funding to bring more afterschool and summer opportunities to life – and help all children re-engage, re-connect, and recover. Breakthrough New York's (BTNY) College and Career Success Program (CCSP) works with students to navigate complex systems and barriers to successful college graduation and meaningful employment. They are accepting applications for BTNY College & Career Success Coaches, who will be at the front lines of providing guidance through monthly Coach Talks and ongoing relationship building. Their vision is to empower student leaders who excel academically and chart their careers successfully.
