Black Girls CODE Technology Event

Black Girls CODE's New York chapter is hosting an event, Build a Webpage in a Day Workshop + Women of Color in STEM Career Panel, on April 11, 2015 at Pace University. The workshop will teach girls ages 7-17 to build their own unique webpage in one day using fun games and activities to introduce #HTML, #CSS, and basic web structure. It is geared towards introducing participants to the technology universe and encouraging them to pursue careers as tech creators and entrepreneurs. The event also includes a women of color STEM professionals panel, which will help audience members learn about careers in STEM from women forging a path of excellence in both their careers and lives. The panel is open to parents and to students who are not attending the Build a Webpage in a Day workshop. Finally, a workshop for parents whose children are participating in the Build a Webpage in a Day workshop will give them information to help their daughters pursue opportunities in the technology space. Registration is $35 for girls and free for parents.
