Timothy Brunold

University of Southern California

Timothy Brunold is Interim Vice President for Enrollment Management. In this capacity, he oversees the admission, financial aid, and registrars’ offices, including orientation and a multi-office collaborative effort regarding the Veterans Resource Center. During his 30+ year career at the university, he has held numerous leadership and student services positions in both the Viterbi School of Engineering and the university’s Enrollment Services Division. Prior to his interim appointment, he served for nearly fifteen years as USC’s dean of admission. During his tenure as the university’s chief admission officer, USC enrolled the most talented, diverse, and impactful incoming classes in its long history. Brunold dramatically expanded the size of USC’s admission office, making it one of the country’s largest and most diverse; one with a distinct focus on transparency, access, and best practices. Brunold is a well-known voice in the profession who is active in multiple associations, chairs the Enrollment Planning Network (EPN)—a consortium of 25 independent research universities, has served on the Common Application's board of directors, been a faculty member of the College Board’s Summer Admission Institute—a training program for new admission officers, and has served as a lecturer in UCLA’s College Counseling Certificate program. A native of southern California, he holds a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in International Relations from USC.
