STEM Learning in Afterschool: An Analysis of Impact and Outcomes

The Afterschool Alliance recently released a report, “STEM Learning in Afterschool: An Analysis of Impact and Outcomes,” that found that afterschool programs can play an important role in helping to advance science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills in U.S. students. The report analyzed evaluations from high-quality afterschool STEM programs throughout the country, and determined that these programs yielded benefits in three broad categories: improved attitudes toward STEM fields and careers; increased STEM knowledge and skills; and increased likelihood of graduation and pursuing a STEM career.
