Write to Thrive Fund through 826 National

826 National Youth Writing is excited to invite eligible youth-serving organizations and schools to apply for grants of $20,000 through the Write to Thrive Fund. This initiative connects programs with 826 National’s writing-and-SEL curriculum and training, strengthening their capacity to support young people’s creative expression, mental health, and well-being. Selected partners will receive $20,000 in grant funding; a flexible, writing-based workshop series centered on reflection, creativity, and care; and facilitator resources, training, and a short curriculum guide from 826 National. The deadline to apply is January 21, 2026

Women’s Forum Education Fund

Offered through the Women’s Forum of New York, the Women's Forum Education Fund provides unrestricted grants of $10,000 to extraordinary women age 25 and older who have demonstrated heroic effort in overcoming extreme adversity to pursue their first Associate or Bachelor's degree. Unlike traditional scholarships, this award is given directly to the recipient to use for any needs that loom largest, including tuition, childcare, medical bills, or housing. Candidates must be 25 years old, reside in NYC and attend a two- or four-year institution within the city, be pursuing their first associate or bachelor’s degree, and be in good academic standing. The 1954 Project Luminary Award with The CAFE Group

The CAFÉ Group is seeking applications for the 1954 Project Luminary Award, which celebrates transformational education nonprofit leaders dedicated to serving Black students and communities through powerful investments in their organizations' ability to create lasting change. Each Luminary organization receives a $1 million unrestricted grant over three years, along with mentorship and support to scale their impact. The three primary focus areas are innovation in teaching and learning, diversity in education, and pathways to economic mobility. The pre-application takes approximately 15 minutes and is due on December 15, 2025Complete the pre-application via this form.

Community Project Grants with NYC Commission on Human Rights

The NYC Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes (OPHC) and the NYC Commission on Human Rights (CCHR) have launched their Community Project Grants to encourage individuals, groups, non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and other groups located in New York City to implement creative projects that promote community respect, prevent hate violence, and seek to address hate crimes, bias-motivated incidents, and discrimination through pathways outside of law enforcement and the criminal legal system. Applicants can propose projects including community workshops, educational videos, events, conferences, and social media campaigns. Funded proposals will receive up to $10,000. Youth Career Readiness Grants with The NBA Foundation

The NBA Foundation has an open funding opportunity for local and national organizations serving under-resourced youth ages 14-24 that promote school-to-career employment opportunities, including job readiness, skill training, job placement, and career advancement. This opportunity is open to 501(c)3 organizations in a market with an NBA team. Funded proposals typically start at approximately $25,000, with an average amount of $250,000.
