Arbor Rising is pleased to announce an open invitation to all eligible nonprofits to apply for their 2026-2027 grantmaking cycle. Over the last 15 years, Arbor Rising has worked with nonprofit organizations that promote economic mobility, and they are looking for a new group of high-potential nonprofit partners with budgets of between $500,000 and $3,000,000.  First-year grantees will receive $125,000 in unrestricted cash as well as 200-300 hours of Arbor Rising capacity-building consulting.  Grants are renewable for up to three years, with the overall package of support totaling at least $450,000 and 500+ hours of consulting support. Interested organizations can read more details on eligibility and process, the Letter of Inquiry (LOI) form, and an FAQ via the Grantseekers page of their website. Interested groups should apply submit a digital LOI by June 9, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST. 

Cricket Island Foundation’s (CIF) Leadership Transition Fund provides multi-year general operating support to youth-led social change organizations through the executive transition process, with a focus on resourcing directors who are not traditionally supported in their leadership (for this fund, “leadership” refers to the executive director or equivalent). Grantees receive $45,000 per year for three years, in addition to peer learning and coaching support alongside a small group of peer grantees. Through this fund, CIF hopes to stabilize organizations during executive transitions while learning best practices for supporting healthy organizational transitions and leadership development in the youth-led social change field. CIF expects to award six grants in this round of funding. Young Futures has announced their latest funding opportunity focused on youth and digital spaces: The Express Yourself Challenge. This funding opportunity will distribute a minimum of $1.5M+ in grants across 10+ organizations, with individual awards ranging from $50,000 to $100,000. As gender and digital life become increasingly intertwined, young people are navigating identity, belonging, pressure, and safety in real time — shaped not just by culture, but by algorithms, recommendation feeds, and platform norms. This funding challenge exists to back solutions that help young people develop a strong sense of self — online and offline — while navigating digital tension. There are three funding tracks: 1. Girl On Fire, for projects supporting girls in building confidence, agency, and healthy relationships, 2. In My Dreams, for projects geared towards supporting boys in expanding definitions of masculinity and strengthening emotional awareness, and 3. Just The Way You Are, for projects aimed to support trans and gender-expansive youth in feeling seen, safe, and supported. Applicants can read full details via their request for proposals (RFP), and apply for the funding opportunity by May 19, 2026 at 8:00 PM EST. 

The Center for Puerto Rican Studies (CENTRO) at Hunter College has launched an open call for 2026-2027 Rooted + Relational community micro-grants, with funding of up to $5,000. This year’s theme is Black Cuerpas: Race, Body Politics & Culture. CENTRO seeks to fund projects that examine: 1) how do race, gender, sexuality, and body politics shape the everyday lives and histories of Boricuas across the archipelago and diaspora? and 2) What happens when we center race and Blackness in a field of study that has too often championed color-blindness and the myth of racial democracy to avoid the hard questions about racism, anti-Blackness, complicity, and erasure? Grantees will implement their projects within their chosen communities during the 2026-2027 academic year. They will also present their work at a CENTRO event, attend three virtual meetings, and have their work highlighted through CENTRO’s communications and media channels. Nonprofit community-based organizations may apply for local mini grant assistance from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services to support youth, families and communities. These local assistance grants of up to $75,000 per grantee will be awarded to community-based organizations to fund direct service programming to support youth, families, and communities throughout the state. This money is intended for programs that increase youth, family, and community engagement; increase access to trauma, healing, and behavioral health services; and increase prevention efforts and youth-centered service delivery.
