Michelle Fontanez, a youth worker and Computer Instructor at the Kingsbridge Heights Community Center, has shown a consistency and dedication to the Youth Programs at KHCC during her ten years as a participant and youth worker. A graduate of Clinton High School and a sophomore at Lehman College, Michelle was the head of the Youth Leadership Council and then became Group Leader before reaching her current position. This year, she began working in the Teen Program as a worker in the recreation room in addition to her duties as a computer instructor. Michelle has helped the youth at KHCC to develop a newsletter, organize talent shows, and improve their computer skills, while encouraging the children and helping them build their self-esteem. Her creativity allows her to make learning enjoyable through writing, computer graphics, and educational activities on the Internet. Michelle shows strong commitment to both her community and to her education. Her positive attitude and growth at KHCC is a guide for others to follow.
