Health in Afterschool: A Prevention-Focused Approach
October 03, 2025 10:00 am to 12:30 pm
A workshop for DYCD funded organizations
In order to register for this event you need to or first.
In this online session, we will focus on health best practices.
Afterschool and school-age child care programs play a vital role in supporting children's health. In this session, supervisors will review state regulations related to health, and explore how they apply in afterschool settings. Participants will discuss the growing prevalence of chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, severe allergies, and examine strategies to ensure staff are prepared to handle medical emergencies. We'll also share approaches for partnering with families to better understand, and meet, children's health needs.
This workshop is intended for DYCD funded organizations. DYCD Staff are welcome. This professional development opportunity is provided at no cost to you but has a value of $230 for DYCD. If you register for and are subsequently unable to attend this session you are responsible for cancelling your registration or risk being waitlisted for future events.
