Behavior Basics for a Strong Summer

May 22, 2025 10:00 am to 12:00 pm

To successfully manage groups in summer programs, practitioners need to understand the underlying causes of common behavior problems.

In order to register for this event you need to or first.

Managing behavior in summer programs requires more than just rules – it calls for understanding, flexibility, and proactive planning.  In this online workshop, youth development practitioners will explore the underlying causes of common behavior challenges, especially those that arise during the unique structure of summer programs. Participants will learn developmentally appropriate strategies to support positive behaviors, strengthen group dynamics, and align with program policies in ways that are consistent, clear, and youth-centered.   Attendees will leave with tools they can immediately apply to help create safe, engaging, and respectful summer programs for all young people.
