An Institute for DYCD funded organizations

In order to register for this event you need to or first.

It is said that little can get accomplished without behavior management in programs, as it affects engagement, learning, efficiency, safety, and overall program efficacy. This full-day, in-person institute is designed for Site Directors and Supervisors seeking to build or strengthen their site-wide approach to behavior management.

It provides a solid foundational understanding of behavior management principles and explores advanced tools and strategies tailored to afterschool programming.  Through interactive learning and hands-on scenario workshopping, leaders will practice skills to train and support their staff, respond to challenging scenarios, and build a culture of respect and safety for all.    A one-hour follow-up Zoom session is included on June 4, 2026, to reinforce skills, troubleshoot challenges, and continue peer learning.

This institute is intended for DYCD funded organizations. DYCD Staff are welcome. This professional development opportunity is provided at no cost to you but has a value of $1200 for DYCD. If you register for and are subsequently unable to attend this session you are responsible for cancelling your registration or risk being waitlisted for future events.
