A workshop for DYCD funded organizations
In order to register for this event you need to or first.
This online session is for staff interested in being more welcoming to LGBTQ+ young people and adults in their programs.
The discussion begins with unpacking terminology and the power of language in creating a more inclusive space. We will explore various experiences, struggles, and challenges that LGBTQ+ identified youth face. The session concludes with some basic and attainable steps that each staff member can make to make your facility, activity, or program more inclusive to anyone along the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Participants will learn how to present themselves as safe adult allies for youth.
This workshop is intended for DYCD funded organizations. DYCD Staff are welcome. This professional development opportunity is provided at no cost to you but has a value of $230 for DYCD. If you register for and are subsequently unable to attend this session you are responsible for cancelling your registration or risk being waitlisted for future events.
